Highland Park Kitchen

This open-plan kitchen is truly the heart of this beautiful Highland Park home, with sweeping views that overlook a peaceful ravine. From the start, the homeowner was clear—they didn’t want a cookie-cutter kitchen. They were looking for something unique and personal, and that’s exactly what Vesta delivered. Working closely with the client, Vesta designed a completely custom cabinet door profile that was so distinctive and well-crafted, it earned the name “The Vesta Door” and is now officially part of the Plain & Fancy cabinetry lineup.

The kitchen features a warm and elegant combination of materials. Rich, dark-stained rift-cut oak brings depth and texture, while a custom enamel with a hand-applied glaze adds softness and ties into the rest of the home’s sophisticated decor. The result is a space that feels both refined and welcoming.

At the center of it all is a show-stopping 14-foot island—designed with both everyday life and entertaining in mind. One half of the island is fully equipped for prepping, cooking, and casual meals, while the other half offers a more open space ideal for serving guests or enjoying a glass of wine with friends. The thoughtful layout supports a natural flow from cooking to hosting without ever feeling cramped.

To tie it all together, carefully selected quartz countertops were chosen for their durability, beauty, and ability to complement the broader color palette of the home. A custom built-in banquette adds even more functionality, offering a more formal dining option that still feels integrated into the overall kitchen space.

The premium appliance suite by Sub-Zero and Wolf ensures this kitchen doesn’t just look amazing—it performs at a professional level too. Altogether, this kitchen is a perfect example of high-end design tailored to real-life living, with custom touches that make it truly one of a kind.
